What's new

Updates to JobTrackerOS, newest first.

July 2026

Dark modeNew

JobTrackerOS now has a full dark theme. It follows your device's light/dark setting automatically, and there's a moon/sun button in the top bar to switch it yourself — your choice is remembered. Both themes are tuned for readable contrast throughout.

Faster to open, and works offlineImproved

The page now paints almost immediately instead of waiting on the app code and web fonts, and the app is cached so repeat visits are near-instant and it still opens if you briefly lose connection. You always get the latest version when you're online — caching never leaves you on a stale build.

Smoother on mobile and easier to find your wayImproved

Text boxes no longer zoom the page when you tap them on iPhone, the current tab scrolls into view so you can always see where you are, and Escape closes any pop-up. If you haven't built a board yet, empty lists now point you straight to “Analyse & build”, and a small “working…” badge shows in the top bar while a build or refresh is running so you can move around while you wait.

One CV library that matches itself to each jobNew

Upload your role-specialised CVs into a single library and JobTrackerOS picks the closest one to each advert, then tailors it — re-emphasising your real experience and never inventing anything. Your first upload automatically becomes the master CV the board builds from, and you can switch it in one click. Add CVs by uploading, dragging several in at once, or pasting.

Tailored CVs keep your own layoutImproved

The AI tailor now outputs in your preferred structure — a Professional Profile, themed experience grouped by relevance, then Education — instead of a fixed template. It only re-emphasises and rephrases what's already in your CV, so employers, dates and qualifications are never fabricated.

“Best places” now shows real, affordable opportunityNew

Each area is ranked by how many jobs on your board actually fit you and are affordable, grouped by region, with average room rent shown. You can tune the “good fit” and “affordable” thresholds yourself, and the app flags higher-opportunity regions you're missing. Areas with no matching live jobs are moved into a collapsed “worth researching” list so they never masquerade as real openings.

Clearer job cards: match and rent, side by sideImproved

Each card shows a single match percentage in the ring and a plain money-and-percentage rent line (“£X/mo after rent · rent Y% of take-home”), with no vague “tight/comfortable” labels. The home screen adds a “strong & affordable” counter you can click to see exactly those jobs.

Boards stay fresh and honestFix

The daily refresh now runs for everyone and respects your All-of-UK / My-area setting, and the source counts always reflect the real, clickable jobs on your board. We fixed a bug where leaving a tab open could overwrite the morning's refresh and freeze your board on stale results.

Smarter duplicate handling in the pipelineImproved

The same vacancy found through an agency and through the employer is now merged into one entry under the real company name, whether it arrived via the same link or a redirect. That keeps your pipeline count accurate and stops the same role appearing twice.

Connect Gmail to track application emailsNew

Link one or more Gmail accounts (read-only) and JobTrackerOS scans for recruiter replies, interview invites and rejections, matching them to the right job and offering to move it along your pipeline. It filters out marketing, OTPs and job-board recommendations, and you can open any matched email in Gmail with one click.

Cost-of-living affordability on every roleNew

Roles now show your estimated take-home pay after UK tax and NI, minus the average local room rent, so you can see what's genuinely liveable. You can sort your shortlist by fit, take-home pay, or the best of both.

“Did you apply?” after you open a jobImproved

When you come back from an application link, JobTrackerOS asks whether you applied and offers to mark it — or to flag that the posting has expired or vanished. It's a quick way to keep your pipeline accurate without extra clicks.

Manage and compare your CVsNew

Paste a newer draft and the AI scores it against your current CV for your target roles, including ATS structure, so you can see which is stronger before you commit. Footer links now cover Privacy, Terms, About and one-click removal of all your CVs or your whole account.

Account security & privacy hardeningFix

The AI features now require you to be signed in, the invite-request form is rate-limited against spam, and scraped job fields are safely escaped everywhere they're shown. These close off abuse and stored-content risks without changing anything you do day to day.

Real listings only — no placeholder cardsFix

The board now shows only specific, real vacancies with a named employer; vague “Various / live search” placeholders are gone. Roles are de-duplicated by their apply link, and anything you've already applied to is hidden from the “to apply” lists.

Full-width layout and cleaner CV previewsImproved

The board and CV pages now use the full screen width with a job grid that scales to how many roles you have. Tailored CVs render as a proper PDF-style preview you can read, download and edit.

One source of truth for where a job livesImproved

A role's status now decides where it appears — Apply, Pipeline, Expired or Prep — so the board, the pipeline and the counts can never disagree. Applied roles are snapshotted so a refresh can't drop them.
